Who we are

Newmarc is a non-profit 501(с)(3) community organization providing translation and interpreting services to disadvantaged and low-income immigrants, asylees and refugees in Illinois and facilitating their access to information about resources, services, and opportunities they need to fully participate in the economic, civic, educational, social and cultural life of the community.

Our mission

Our mission is to facilitate immigrants’ incorporation to the U.S. society by helping to remove the language and information barriers faced by the newcomers to our country.

What we do

Newmarc achieves its goals by:

• providing free or low-cost translation services to economically-disadvantaged immigrants, asylees and refugees in Illinois, including translation of vital records, family documents, educational transcripts, resumes, immigrant petitions, applications, and official correspondence;
• connecting newcomers to the resources, services, and opportunities they need to fully participate in the economic, civic, educational, social and cultural life of the community, such as English as a Second Language programs, job search resources, citizenship application services, state-funded health insurance programs, childcare organizations, advocacy groups, and community centers;
• using its website to disseminate information on integration of immigrants, asylees, refugees and the community at large into a self-sufficient, healthy, and inclusive multicultural society.
